Hello, and welcome to Abundant Fruit & Olive Shoots!

My name is Lisa.  I've been married to my husband Daniel, who happens to be a pastor, for 11 years. I'm a homemaker and homeschooling mom of three olive shoots ages 8 (Isaiah), 6 (Elijah) and 2 (Noah). It is my desire to live intentionally, train our children diligently and grow joyfully in the Lord, thereby displaying abundant fruit, and glorifying the solid roots that sustain us.

     In just the past year we have faced many losses and challenges.  The loss of a job, a church family, and our home to name a few.  We also dealt with the diagnosis of a brain tumor (myself) last fall and surgical removal of the tumor in January of this year.  Though I may post about these experiences from time to time, I state them now simply to dispel any notion that we have the picture perfect life.

     In spite of many losses and hardships, God has continued to be faithful.  He has provided all that we have needed each day.  He has blessed us with beautiful and healthy children.  He has delivered us from each trial and brings us always to a place where we can look back and see at least a glimpse of how he was working throughout the times when he seemed oh so far away to us.

     As our family strives to fear the Lord and walk in His ways, and as I attempt to glorify the Lord by watching well over my household and eating not the bread of idleness, I pray that this blog, a compilation of lessons learned, will prove to be a help and an encouragement to you.  Would you join me in a life of intention, diligent training and joyful growth?  May you and I both become like a fruitful vine, our children like olive shoots around our tables.

     I also pray that the Lord would continue to direct the development of this venture and the words that are written here, so that He may be glorified.

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
who fears the Lord.

     With that, I introduce to you my precious family.

Meet my husband Dan...
Our sweet older boys, Isaiah (8) and Elijah (6)...
and our happy baby of the family, Noah (2)
